About the Phone Validator
This free phone number validator checks whether a number is properly formed for its country, and reports the line type and carrier where that information is available. Pick the country, paste the number, and get an answer.
Twelve countries are supported: India (+91), United States (+1), United Kingdom (+44), Canada (+1), Australia (+61), United Arab Emirates (+971), Singapore (+65), Germany (+49), France (+33), Brazil (+55), Japan (+81) and South Africa (+27).
How to validate a phone number
- Choose the country from the list.
- Enter the phone number. Spaces, dashes and brackets are fine.
- Click Validate phone.
- Use Copy result to paste the report into a sheet or ticket.
What validation actually checks
This is the distinction that matters, and it catches people out:
- Validation confirms the number is possible — correct length, a real dialling prefix, an allocated range for that country.
- It does not confirm the number is in service, or that a specific person owns it.
The only way to know a number is live is to send something to it. Validation catches typos, wrong country codes and impossible numbers before you waste an SMS on them — which is exactly what it is for.
Indian numbers specifically
- Mobile numbers are 10 digits and start with 6, 7, 8 or 9.
- The country code is +91, so the international form is +91 followed by the ten digits.
- A leading 0 is for domestic dialling and should be dropped in the international format.
- Landlines use an STD code plus the local number, and the total length varies by city.
The commonest data-entry errors are eleven digits with the 0 still attached, and a duplicated country code like +91 0 98…

Yes. No signup and no limit on checks.
Does it tell me if the number is active?
No. It confirms the number is correctly formed and allocated. Only contacting the number proves it is in service.

Which countries are supported?
Twelve, including India, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan and South Africa.
Do I need to include the country code?
No. Choose the country from the list and enter the national number. Including the code is fine too.
Why is my valid number reported as invalid?
Usually a wrong country selection, an extra leading zero, or a missing digit. For India, check it is exactly ten digits starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9.
Is the number I enter stored?
No. Nothing you type is saved.
